The UNESCO-UIA Study Programme Certificate aims to set an international standard for excellence in architectural education, ensuring the prestige and integrity of validated schools.
The Department of Architecture of the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University applied to the UNESCO-UIA Validation Council in October 2016 so as for international recognition and equivalency.
Based on this application, a committee formed by the validation council prepared a pre-qualification report and visited the University in March 2017. During this visit, individually meetings were organized with faculty members, students, graduates, professional architects, representatives of the Chamber of Architects and external supporters. The CDS founders were attended the meetings in the alumni category.
Ultimately, it has been approved for 5 years that the education of MSGSU Architecture Department is fully compliant with UNESCO-UIA Validation criteria and its international recognition and equivalence. And also, it was the first Department of Architecture gained the UNESCO-UIA Validation which implemented by the RIBA in Turkey.
